The mountains peaked high above the forest floor. The sky was gray in warning of a nearing storm. Winds picked up gently, rocking the barren branches of the sleeping trees, making them creek and shake. The forest was empty, quiet. No other critters roamed, nor did birds chirp their songs to the world around them. The only sounds that flowed were the slow, rhythmic falling of the leaves that still tried to cling on to their homes in the trees that lingered high. The sky darkened, a streak of lightning pierced the sky, and following close behind it the boom of thunder in the distance. Ah, the feel and smell of the rain as it approached. It’s strange wet scent falling across the terrain, oh so pleasant to the senses though threatening with it’s friends that it brought a long with it.
A being tread through those falling leaves as the wind knocked them from their perches. A being of black, gray, white and red. Eyes of a strange mixture of green and purple were dull within the graying light, though in the sunlight they shone their magnificence and strange appearance. A tribal marking adorned his back, starting at his shoulder blades, moving down to the base of his tail and then almost falling to his very sides but it stopped just as his body curved. Wings of raven like appearance perched upon his sides, held tightly to keep from falling and dragging upon the ground below. He had traveled far, leaving his home land to find his own and to be on his own. He knew nothing of where his siblings had gone to, nor his parents. All he knew is that he had left his family early, taking in his knowledge and bringing it forth elsewhere. Others would need him more so than any in his home lands. He was born a loner, he belonged to no pack. Even now as he ventured across the terrain he smelled no such territory boundary but there again, he could be wrong.
Coming to a small stream, he dipped his head gently, gazing down at his reflection though broken as the water ran quickly. It was obscured, blurred though it gave away his true appearance. He held his mother’s seductive nature and his father’s temper. The wings he bore mimicked that of his fathers though his elongated fangs and the nicks in each ear he had inherited from his mother. The white, black and gray of his pelt came from both of his parents though the red accents he was unsure of. Each of his siblings had inherited colors that neither parent possessed. Ah well, uniqueness was always something good, even in the way of twin siblings if it came down to that. His tongue reached towards the icy liquid below him, taking in the sweetness and cleanliness that he hadn’t tasted in a long while. It was cool, clean, refreshing. Enough to satisfy and quench the dryness of his throat. He had taken turns between walking and flying in his travels though both left you tired and parched. He savored every last drop before stepping over the stream to continue forth.
The scent of another reached his nostrils, both somewhat familiar though strange. He had reached another’s lands, though the smell was faint. Would that specific leader still be around? If so, they really needed to take the time to mark the territory boundaries better. He smirked gently, stepping into the terra just inches. He took in the scents, the area was more full with greenery than the places he had traveled from. Another rumble of thunder crashed within the skies, causing his gaze to look up as the first drops of rain fell to the ground. It was a light rain, though he knew it would pick up. He could sense it in every fiber of his being which was why all other animals that usually ran from him were hiding and he had not caused such happenings. He stepped back within the brush just in time for the rain to pick up more, taking in shelter from the worst of it as much as he possibly could. He would wait out the storm, in hopes the leader may wonder his way in time to permit him to enter.

Her eyes were wide open as she looked around from the rock she was laying on. She couldn't sleep now, being so exhausted, wanting to sleep. But that didn't seem to be in her cards, and well she would just have to be a big girl and move on with this. She yawned a little, listening the sounds of her claws gripping the rock, as she stretched while she was yawning. Ess finally stood, gliding down to the world below near a stream. The female couldn't help but feel someone was here. She lifted her nose to the sky, taking in a deep breath and then finally walking in the directions of the scent. It was somewhat familiar but well she wasn't sure. She twitched her nose, feeling her lip twitch a little, growling softly. Her wings opened slowly, stretching wide and then soaring over to find where the intruder was. When she noticed it she landed, snarling and then finally feeling words gag up from her lungs. "Speak now pup, before I rip yer' vocal coards out" she snarled her scottish accent thick in her words.
Ess felt her hackles raised as she stared down this young male. She had little interest in fools who travel to her land so boldly. "Look at ya standing there, bold as brass, wandering into my turf. Silly younglin', yer' going to be fish food if ya don't choose to go home." she snarled again feeling anger well up in her. These wandering pups didn't seem to have a clue about the dammed world now did they! They would just walk in, bold as brass, thinking they owned the place. Well that was certainly not the case. Those foolish young pups...

The rain had receded quickly, stopping to become a mist like form. The leaves of the trees dripped in the liquid, creating pools in different areas of the ground. The earth was muddy, damp and unpleasant though it would dry quickly. The air itself had become humid and sticky but it would disappear as well. The brute had come to sit upon his haunches, awaiting the rain out before venturing out on his own once more in hopes of finding another. The area he had found was a strange cave like structure made of the trees that surrounded him. It had allowed him to stay fairly dry though some areas of his form had gotten slightly wet, one being his wings. He growled lowly to himself, he would have to wait for his wings to dry out before trying his luck at flight in the strange weather.
Strange colored gaze scanned out before him. Red tipped auds perked forth, hearing the sound of wings in the distance. He stepped back slightly, concealing himself in shadows. The other landed not far from him, the sight was unusual yet so familiar. He couldn’t pinpoint it, at least not yet but the scent was enough to remind him of home. He could only chuckle at her attitude though he understood it. She must’ve been the leader, her stature and words enough to indicate such a position. He stood slowly, stepping from his hiding place slowly. His wings outstretched, the rain no longer a threat so they could dry quicker than they could upon his back. With his wings in the position that they were, the red tribal marking upon his back was revealed. His purpleish green eyes held a slight sheen as he gazed upon her, “And you wish me to speak of what miss?” He questioned, voice dark, holding a slight seductiveness and darkness.
He came fully from the forest, revealing his true self. He was a being of black, gray, white and red in color, wings black and gray and mimicking a raven’s in sight. He was a fairly large male, though in between the size of his mother and father. He was the middle child to his parents, though he was stronger than his younger brother, his sister still held a slight dominance over him in weight and strength but that would change in due time. He casually walked away from the Alphess, stretching his aching body before turning back to her once more, “Ah, so this is your terra. Well, no wonder the scent was strong here since it is so that I have wandered into another’s territory. And what if I am here to join such a pack hmm? Will I die then?” He questioned, laughing darkly, sitting back upon his haunches once more, “Tell me dear Alpha, what is thy name that I may call you?” He questioned, figuring it would be easier for him to call her by her actual name.

This pup was testing her nerves already. His arrogance made her lips curl back and her body force out a massive snarl. This stupid boy was about to get her craw. Ess watched him move, not liking the seductive sound of his voice. She was near three thousand years old, his silly seductive ways would not work on her, she was to old for those types of things. Ye' pup, I am near three thousand years old, yer' silly little seductive nature won't work on me" she ground starting to circle him. Her body seemed to coil up with power, her head hung low as she stared at him, wings raised in a defensive manner. She could feel disgust building up her chest as she growled still circling where he was.
This male was really stupid, who toyed with an alpha? Honestly? A pup who wanted to lose his balls, that was who. "If your arrogance doesn't kill ye' fool, I will. I don't care whether ye' want to join 'er not, I would certainly enjoy putting ye' in yer' place she growled, tail held high in the air, bi colored eyes still watching him with a fury. This male was going to get himself killed should he push her much further. When he asked her name, she was half debating telling him to just fuck off and run home to mommy but she didn't. She looked at him for a moment longer, still she circled for another three times before she answered.
"Ess, Alphess of the Aarogyc, pure Aarogyc, previous resident of the outlands of the land Reborn Sins. Does that sum it up fer ye'? she said adding a snort to the end and still watching him. THis male was really going to be one to push her buttons, she had a real feeling that he was.

He could merely laugh at her reactions to him. Ah what fun, he enjoyed testing the females much like he was doing now. He sat, looking at her with hardly any emotion shown upon his face. It was to bad she didn’t like the way he spoke to her, or acted. Most females fell at his feet, awaiting him to take them as his and do what he pleased but this, this female was much different. He would figure her out eventually, it would take time. Perhaps he could one day become her right hand man but those days were far away. He licked his paw once, listening to her words, his eyes never leaving her, “Ah, you may be older than I but I assure you, I am no pup. Those days were long gone many years ago, even before I was ready to leave my parent’s side.” He replied, a little cocky in his words. He stood as she circled him, watching her every move. He could only laugh at her growls, which held little effect on him at all. Threats, that’s all they were. A little action would’ve been nice.
He stepped back slightly, bending to show his nape towards her, issuing a challenge of sorts, “Kill me then. If that is what you want to do with potential members of your pack then I foresee very few wanting to join with such a threatening welcome.” He said laughing, returning his head to the previous position. His head swiveled as she circled him, watching, waiting. That’s all it was. Though she held the position of Alpha, he seen far beyond that. He saw what she truly was. As much as she threatened him, he knew she wouldn’t attack. His own body was unguarded, it was likely he would get hurt if she attacked but for now he took that chance. He shook his head, growing tired of her tactics.
Her answer was finally a nice sound to hear though as she said her name, something clicked. Ess. A name he had heard as a young pup, only 4 months old at the time. Ess. His eyes closed slightly, remembering the first encounter. He had been out on his own, running the woods around his home area away from his parents and siblings. He had run into a female, a strange looking female. Strange enough for this Ess before him to be her. He remembered their second meeting, meeting in the same general area as they had the day before. She had brought him food, allowed him to ask what questions he wanted. He remembered her speaking of her pup, a pup who was presumed dead, at least that is what she had told him. He studied her again, auds perking forth more as she mentioned Reborn Sins. He had been born there years ago. His parents had met there and as far as he knew, his siblings still resided there.
“Ess..” He began, “Ess..it’s me..Genesis.” He replied. Perhaps she would remember the name, the name of the pup she befriended those years ago. His heart fluttered. She had become a second mom to him, his parents had often shown jealousy when he came home with her scent wrapped around his frame. The first time he came home after meeting her had been interesting. His parents had been all over him because he smelled of another though blew it off, figuring he had found a friend elsewhere, though they worried more and more when he came home smelling of the same female and had never had the chance to meet her. Things had changed since, he had grown and gone out on his own and here he was, in front of Ess once more, or at least he hoped.

When the name Genesis entered her aud they flicked forward. Was it really that pup? The pup whom she had basically raised? He looked so different now that he wasn't a little ball of fluff that seemed to not understand the world. She looked down seeing the scale still hanging around his neck. He had kept it all these years? It was much tighter now and looked almost like a choker necklace instead of the low hanging one he would almost trip on. She looked at him, still studying, she knew he would be a handsome little shit when he grew up but well, this was sort of different. She looked at him for a minute, her eyes bore into his while she tried to really remember.
How could this be him? He was so little. He disappeared one day she had gone to meet him and she never returned. She had flown almost as far as she could to here. She never wanted to go there again. He had been her only friend, so it wasn't worth it staying there and well suffering. She had come here so that she could start her own life. She looked for a minute, her head lifting and she stepped forward a few paces, taking in a deep whiff of his scent closing her eyes. How had this little male traveled here. But he was much more grown up. She looked at him, seeing that he still growing some, and looking so handsome. Well look what ye' little shit turned inta? You've grown to be a rather big boy 'aven't ya?" she said looking at him for a minute before she sat down closer to him.
She was amazed her little pup friend was sitting here with her, almost her size at that. He'd better not grow any damn bigger then her. She'd really get pissed at that. You grow any dammed bigger and I'm gonna 'ave to kick yer' ass" she told him, smile slowly forming at the corner's of her mouth. She looked at him again, still not being able to get it through her head this was the same helpless pup that she had known so long ago. He was much more muscular now, and she honestly didn't look different. She knew she didn't but well she was old. Quite old. She let out a soft sigh and then looked at him.
She felt older now. Very old. She knew she was old at that. She was almost hoping soon she would have her litter of pups and then be able to rest in peace. But of course she would wait until her babies were grown up and there was a clear winner for her thrown. She looked around for a minute to see if Sanka was around but was sort of glad that he wasn't. She looked back at him, horns feeling very heavy today really. They felt like she was caryying bolders on each side of her head.

Yes, it was really the pup she had befriended years ago. He had finally grown into his body, his wings a massive size compared to the puny things they once were. The tribal marking upon his back showing its true magnificence and every part of his being had grown exceptionally well. He was well fed and well taken care of. He had grown into the adult he was destined to be. It was true, the scale she had given him when he was only 4 months old still hung from his neck though amazingly it was still fairly loose and comfortable. It did not constrict his breathing nor was it uncomfortable. In fact he hardly felt the thread holding it in place. He had grown into his parent’s son, destined to carry on their strange, dark legacy while creating his own, which is how it worked out thus far anyway. He was now creating his own just by being here, in front of Ess, one more time.
He was ashamed that he hadn’t gone to see her that one single day however many years ago. His parents had kept him home, it was a learning day for the 3 siblings and he had needed to be there. Their first flight was taken that day, as well as their first true kill as a family. He had been 6 months old then, growing quickly as any pup did, their personalities forming into what they would be as adults. Arizona had been the weaker one but had done well in hunting though not so well in flight. Onyx was the dominant of the three, taking on all challenges their parents gave them with pride and he to did the same. When he had gone to find her the next day, she did not appear and he went to that same spot for weeks on end and she did not come back. He knew nothing of why she had left or where she had gone but he had moved on from his friend, doing what was needed to prepare him for life and now here he was, out of the blue that he had found her again, “Yes, it has been that long since we last seen eachother. I was 6 months old then, I am now 2 years old and still growing.” He replied, taking in the fae. Her looks seemed different to him somehow, though perhaps it was because he could actually see her for the female that she was and not as just another play thing as he had before.
“You will have to catch me first.” He laughed at her remark, the elongated fangs showing just slightly as his mouth opened. He was much faster than some thought, especially in flight. He was in fact, faster than both of his parents combined in flight though still slightly slower on earth. The weight of his wings were to blame for that but he still managed to kill as needed to survive and that, he hadn’t been deprived of. He was a sexually endowed male, as well as sexually mature enough to carry on his genes if it came down to it but that he didn’t want for a while, at least not at this time though if he had the opportunity to reproduce with Ess, it may happen sooner rather than later if she allowed it so. He remembered her speaking of a long lost pup, his mind wandering. Had she found that pup yet? Had his dead body turned up missing or had he miraculously still lived and had shown himself to her? He wouldn’t pry, not now, not when the reunion was just getting started.

”Aye, ye’ were only a little shrimp scamperin’ ‘round. she said to him remembering it like yesterday. He had spent a few nights with her, when they had gotten to caught up, and it had gotten to late. She smiled softly and then laughed to herself thinking about that. She had known his parents hadn’t been to fond of her. The fact she was an adult and basically raised him since he had been four months old. She had a feeling that well his mother hadn’t been happy about her sort of stealing her pup. She knew I was somewhat wrong but at that time. She had been to happy having him with her to care. She knew that it was wrong. It really had been. Very very wrong. She sighed softly and looked back at him sighing a little. Well it had been a long time. Or a long time in the mortals world. To her a day was nothing but a second, a year was a minute, and so it would go on and on for ages. ”Well I’m glad to see yer’ doing well, I’m here, just leading the pack. We’ve only got one member if yer’ fittin’ to join. she said to him, tail flicking softly at her hocks as she spoke to him.
She smiled softly at the fact he said she would have to catch him first. ”I may be old son, but I am not just a frail old woman” she told him taking one paw and pushing him to the ground softly, being mindful of his now growing wings. She would always be stronger then him thanks to her subspecies. With her age she would always be stronger then anyone younger then she was. If they were older well the tables would be turned quite a bit. She had never found Calix, the male had still been lost to her for ages now. She honestly knew that well he was finally sexually mature, and she was in heat like all other female, but she didn’t really think much about it. She had been like a mother to him, so the thought never crossed her mind. And probably wouldn’t for well a long time unless he was the one who showed any interest in her.
Ess had little problem taking more then one consort, although one would be sort of her favorite. There was no doubt. Was she a whore? No, but well when you were as old as she was, taking more then one mate was very smart, as far as spreading your genes went. It was a tactic mostly used by males, although she would use it herself. She let out a soft sighed and then looked at the way she had come, well she would have to head back more inland soon. ”If ye’d like Gen, would ye’ wanna com’ back with mae’?” she asked him

“Sadly, that is true.” He agreed. He knew nothing of the world outside of the protection and watch of his parents. All he knew was that he was alive and fighting every day just to be sure he could make it past his first birthday and thus far, he had, obviously. He remembered the night she walked him home, that very first night. He hadn’t wanted to but at the age he had been, he needed his sleep just as any pup does but after finishing what lessons that needed to be done the next day, he was able to run back to her and have what fun he wanted to. He glanced around the terrain before him, the rain finally dissipating completely. The ground was still wet and pools of water still littered the ground but that would dry, soon. He smiled back at her as she spoke, taking in the area around him once more, “Well, you have found yourself a beautiful place to call home, beats the barren lands I was born in and as far as I know, my parents still call home.” He said, taking in what she had said about only one member, “I am surprised you do not have more but I have to say, you do need to lighten up on the greeting a bit but other than that, I don’t see why I wouldn’t join.” He added, chuckling softly.
She may be old, but he knew she still had some life left in her. He knew her age was twice his but that didn’t matter to him. He viewed her still as a femme that was perhaps 6 years if not slightly younger. He wouldn’t say that though, he would save it, save it for when the time was right. He returned the smile, knowing it would have made any young fae blush slightly, “Ah but that I shall agree. You are not a frail wolf, you still hold the power and grace as any my age.” He said, red tipped tail flicking idly behind his frame. He got pushed over, though he did not fall. He simply caught himself upon one paw while the other two remained upon the ground beneath. He growled playfully, regaining his balance and stature. While at the time Ess had appeared like a motherly figure, an extra motherly figure that is, his mind now was different. He viewed her as a potential mate, or lover if it came down to it. Tables could be turned quickly, feelings change, it would only be a matter of time before something possibly happened.
Auds twitched, listening to the sounds that came from the trees around him. Birds, small mammals moving about their daily lives without worrying about the threat of the two wolves near by. He smirked slightly, returning his gaze to her as her words broke the silence once more. Would she want him to come? Hell, why wouldn’t she if she had asked? He smiled darkly, nodding once, “Yes, I will travel with you, find myself a home as it may. A home away from home.”

She sighed softly and nodded when he said that it was sadly true. She was feeling rather old at the moment to begin with. When you were as old as she was, every day you seemed to feel worst and worst. She had no doubt that her time would be coming soon enough. Within the next few years she would disappear permanently. She looked around her land, seeing the different pines that were around. A few little birds were singing, though her companion was not one of them. She frowned a little looking for him, hoping that he would show up soon. She did not like being to far away from him for to long. He was only a little thing and she knew that he could easily be killed by just about everything and anything. Finally she heard his distinct twitter and looked up seeing him twisting in the air and finally landing on one of her spines. He hopped from one to the next and finally rested on the curve of one of her horns whispering soft little Spanish words into her ear. She nodded a little and then let her tongues flick out testing the air that was around her. No one was here. Which wasn’t surprising. She was glad when the rain finally just seemed to stop, it had been looming all day, making the mountain very dangerous. ”I actually believe they lead the pack known as the Carroway. Their names are Dante and Fallen if I’m correct? she asked yawning a little rather tired frankly.
”Well, when y’re an grumpy old man and ye’ don’t want a bunch of young hoodlums in yer territory you may ask me to lighten up she said laughing a little at his comment of her rough greeting. Well sometimes she couldn’t help it. It wasn’t her fault. She yawned again feeling tired at the moment really. She had been tired lately and then looked over at him. ”If ye near three thousand years old and look this good then you can ask me, alright? she told him giggling softly and then looked at his smile. She was far to old to blush at such silly things. If she wanted a reaction like that he would have to find a young fae to do that with. ”Well, it’s not from a life time a practicing I can tell ye she said smiling a little as his tail wagged slightly behind him. When he almost fell but caught himself she couldn’t help but be a little proud of him for that.
She nodded a little when Gen said he would come with her. She turned, quickly picking up a job, easily bouncing from one foot to the other, traveling along the path she had. She could tell that it would start raining within about fifteen minutes, and there was a cave she had stayed in a few times when it rained like this. Traveling in the rain made her injuries hurt. Of her really old ones. She looked at the male from the corer of her eye in the reflection of the puddle seeing him follow. Her little sparrow companion twittered softly as he rested in the curve of her horn near the tip. He was nestled firmly in her fur quite happy. Ess picked up the pace a little, knowing that the younger wolf would easily catch up to her as she moved up a hill. She quickly dipped into the small cave, just as he did seeing it start pouring down rain. The rain drops hit noisily on the rocks outside, but Ess just nestled herself down in the soft bed of grasses she had brought in here earlier. She looked at him for a minute, opening one wing, her normal signal for him to be able to lay with her. The sparrow twittered again but then quieted down flying off to a little area she had gotten for him. It was just on a rock that was still a little taller then she was, having a little nest there for him so he was comfortable.

The sounds around him caused his eyes to move in different directions to try and catch the sources of the sounds themselves. He saw no birds present though knew they were hiding in the trees on their perches with their families perhaps. At the sight of her small companion, he watched silently. He took in their interactions, wondering how such a companionship had come to be such. He had heard of other wolves taking on companions of other species, mainly birds. He had also heard of a dragon type of species becoming companions but he had yet to see such a being. He smiled gently, watching them as the bird came to whisper in her ear. He took in her change in facial expressions, as well as her returning gaze to him. Her words were enough to cause a look of surprise to cover his face. His parents had traveled here as well? Or at least, in a pack not to far away? He expected them to stay in the lands he had been born in but things could change. He nodded as she spoke their names, “Yes, that would be them. I guess they found their dream then. Lead a pack of their own without being told what to do themselves. Interesting.” He explained, his body relaxing further as he stayed with her.
He could only laugh at her response to her changing her attitude towards new comers. He could understand though. With anyone as old as she was he could understand that she may be afraid that another may come in and challenge her or worse, kill her. He could understand where she was coming from but she still needed to lighten up a bit if she could. It would chase possible members away perhaps. He nodded to her question, “I don’t foresee myself living as long as 3000 years. I see perhaps 16 at most maybe, or if I get lucky maybe 20 but that’s a pretty big dream.” He replied, his laugh breaking through his lips, creating a slight mist coming from his maw within the cooling air around them.
He stood and followed after her. He had only seen this one specific small area of her territory and was interested in seeing more. His eyes rose to the skies as they threatened to rain once more. The darkening clouds and the smell indicated such things. He kept up with her pace, having no problems with it. His wings stayed close upon his back, not wishing for them to get damaged by a low hanging branch or large bush. Anything could happen if he wasn’t careful. He followed her into the cave, shaking out his pelt from what little rain still remained. They had made it just in time. The sound outside of the cave indicated that it was threatening to be heavier this time than the last. He ducked slightly as her bird companion flew over his head to settle himself down into his own little home. He grinned slightly, though it was hardly visible upon his maw. He stood at the opening of the cave, watching her and what she had planned. As she laid down and lifted a wing, he moved forth. He settled down beside her, though only her wing touching small areas of his being. He no longer needed the comfort of a motherly figure, even though just the small touch of her upon him was enough to make him feel like home.
His head lay down upon his paws outstretched in front of him. His gaze watched the rain outside the mouth of the cave. How had he managed to travel so far from his home? Had he found Ess out of pure coincidence or hate fate brought them back together again? Did this change the feelings he had towards her, once so innocent and now as an adult, did he view her as a potential lover? He was unsure. His mind cleared as he turned back towards her, “How many areas are there in the territory you reign?” He questioned curiously. He wasn’t sure how it worked.

She had not thought of taking a mate any longer. She was rather old at this point not to mention she she doubted she could ever have anymore offspring. After her son had been born she had never allowed herself to be mated again. She had to admit that Gen had growned from a small pup into a handsome young brute. Ess closed her eyes listening to the sound of the rain outside only opening her eyes when she heard his question. She let her lips pull back into a yawn before she began to answer. Five. Ther' ar' five areas in mi' territory..."
Ess glanced at the little sparrow twittering. A fox wandered into the cave entrance seeming unsure of the two wolves. "It is safe brother." she said to the fox who seemed to understand her and scampered off deeper into the cave. She had no worry about the fox. Foxes were nothing really. Her head rested down on her paw rocking slightly because of her horns. Her spines were flat against her back, one wing extended over his back the other close, her two snake tongues flicking out occasinally.
"Do ye' have a maite? I'd figur' ye' woulde'." she asked looking at him. The mate might not be with him. But she knew many males struck out to find a pack for them and their mates whiles the females waited at home with the pups. Ess looked up at him her head still on her paws as she waited for an answer. With the rain here all her aches and pains seemed to fill her body. She groaned as her shoulder seemed to ache heavily when she moved her head slightly.

His mind changed course as she spoke aloud and broke the silence that had crept between them even though the rain outside didn’t keep it completely silent. Five areas? That was enough to keep a reigning female busy indefinitely. He had traveled through many on his journey here, varying between geographical structures from one to the next and he figured hers were much the same, each land being different than the rest. His head rose from between his paws to respond simply with a nod, strange purple/green gaze turning towards the mouth of the cave once again, “Five is definitely enough to keep one busy.” He spoke aloud his thoughts from only moments before.
He twitched slightly as the fox came into view though did not move. Ess had given the being permission to enter and he scampered right past before either one of them could snap at his heels. A look of sheer amusement fell across his face. What a pity it would be to be as small as the fox without the strength his kind had. Foxes were just weak, miniature forms of the wolven race without any true meaning in the world but to kill off small rodents, or so it seemed. Genesis didn’t know much about foxes anyway so any thought that crossed his mind could end up possibly being wrong.
Red tipped auds twitched at her question. No he hadn’t taken a mate nor had he sired any pups yet either. He had traveled simply to be on his own, create his own life. He looked down towards her resting head, one paw crossing slightly. His eyes shut only for a moment as he thought. He hadn’t even stopped long enough to befriend any other females aside from Ess when he had been young. His sister had had a thing for him and his brother and father at one point but all he considered her was a nuisance. Eyes opened once more, looking down at her resting form. He shook his head lightly before replying, “I have no mate nor have I sired pups of my own. I have had no time to settle down when all I’ve wanted was to make a life of my own before settling down completely. I am still young and have plenty of time and with the species flowing within my veins, even though it’s not as strong as it is with my sister, I am bound to outlive many.” He explained. He was uncertain if he had ever explained to her the strange subspecies that his mother had brought down upon him. Vampire like in nature, while not as strong within him as it was his sister; he still carried the gene and would until the day he died.
He questioned though within his mind, had she taken another mate within the time he had met her in his puphood? Was he lurking somewhere near or had he been lucky enough to catch her once again, single and unaccompanied? He would keep the thoughts to himself for now unless she was willing to open up to him on her own. If not, he wouldn’t push the matter further.
