Sanka watched as a small bird perched itself upon her great horns. It was comfortable and she spoke to it gently like a friend. He grinned, she had befriended nature then Sanka would gladly follow her.
"Hurting a fellow pack member would certainly not be a problem. I actually prefer not to kill, although the thrill of battle is something i constantly thirst for. So, may i join your ranks, Lady Ess?"
Sanka was relieved her stare down was over, she was indeed a scary opponent. Her bi-colored is seemed to pierce through your soul. She could read him like a book, picking up on every thought he had. She would certainly keep Sanka in line and he yearned to earn her trust.
So just because a bird likes her you think she's trustworthy. Pshh!! You'll soon learn that NO ONE can be trusted" The voice in his mind spat. It was furious at Sanka's new found admiration for the graceful alphess.

She felt her nose twitch and finally her body relaxed slightly. She had littler interest in fighting at the moment, but she would certainly protect herself and her territory when it was needed. She listened to his words about the thrill of battle and then finally mused over the words in her head. "You may join my ranks, although you must work for what ever position you want. I give nothing away without a challenge, I've lived long enough to know that... she said turning and jogging off away from him a little, starting her normal just tracking and territory marking of this territory. Ess heard the soft whispers of spanish her little friend whispered in her ear, although she was the only one who would be able to understand it. She couldn't help but smile softly and kept on her way, allowing him to follow her if he so pleased.
As she weaved, her body didn't seem to move, staying still while her legs weaved underneath her. She flexed her wings, liking the feeling of the nice breeze against the stretched out skin. She had been feeling trapped in her own skin lately, maybe it was because she was carrying so much, but well she didn't know. This was terrible at times. Although, it made her more then impressive, and she would always be more powerful then the others in her pack. She was a very very old Aarogyc Manji. Very old. Ess huffed a little to herself, looking around, seeing some dust swarm up behind her as she moved. Her wings opened a little more, before she finally lifted them high, pushing her body into the air and flying just above the land, only a foot higher maybe. It didn't bother her though. She frankly liked being lower to the ground during the summer, especially right now, in this part of her territory at least.

Sanka bowed his head signifying he understood her conditions. He planned to prove himself either way so he didn't mind the reward of being offered more prestigious ranks. When she suddenly began weaving through her territory Sanka followed behind silently. She moved easily through her land like a fish through water. He didn't struggle to keep up, but he sure didn't make it look as easy as she did. Her striped legs mesmerized him as they danced from side to side. Then, with one flap of her bat-like wings, she rose, hovering no more than a foot off the ground. Sanka had no experience with flying but it was evidant that it took great skill to hover to effortlessly.
Sanka knew his new alphess could read him like a book, but still he tried to conceal his hatred of winged wolves. "You hover well, it looks like you've been doing it for ages. We your born with those...gifts?" he asked. He had learned from experience that the best way to draw attention off of something, you should talk about it, make it common to the point where they forget the truth. If you avoid the subject then they'll remember forever that it is a touchy, subject. He trudged along looking dead ahead waiting for a reply.

"I was born with wings, but I did not learn to fly until I was near twelve years old, until I was decently sized and had built my muscles up enough. Muscle big enough to fly with all these odd extremities, which are heavy, is very difficult" she said glancing back at him, and then propelling her body up another foot or so as she moved forward still, being mindful of stirring up the dark brown dust around them. Hoovering was a difficult thing to say the least. She looked at him for a minute and then tucked her wings close to her body, twisting around in a circle, before continuing hoovering above the ground.
Ess let out a soft sigh before opening her wings wide and leaning back, landing on her feet again. She really wanted to just fly off out of here and get something to eat and drink, but she would test this male first. She weaved around rocks, allowing him to choose to match her footsteps or make his own path. "So, what role in my pack would you enjoy, or enjoy most? she asked him, ears flicked forward, waiting for his reply.

The wing from her wings beat down on the earth causing beautiful ripples to form in the sand. "There's nothing more beautiful than chaos." he said to himself in a hushed voice. As she landed Sanka glanced over to her.
When he first saw her the first thing he noticed were her horns, the were large and looked heavy, but because of her wings he had assumed they were hollow and mere decorations. But with his new information he once again understood that they were indeed dangerous weapons.
Her question caught him with surprise, the position he would most enjoy??
"Defending my packmates and alphess would be something i would imagine I'm good at, as well as spying and gathering information. But i love nothing more than pups. Working with pups, and teaching them their proper stance; that's what i enjoy." he answered.

Depending on this males abilities, he would be allowed different things, not to mention he would have to win her trust. She was not very trust worthy. At this point, without a consort beside her, she knew that many males would be after her, desiring a place next to her. But she would have to find a male, or more, that would help her keep her generation going. Or at least give her a wider range of genes to have offspring with. She would probably take a few males, and depending on how each of their pups turned out, if they could convince her, she would name them her main consort. She had lived to long to keep one mate.
Not all animals lived so long as she did. "Well, depending on how you do, you will be placed in your proper place. You will be given three days, and I will see your character, and your true attributes. she told him before her paw pads touched the soft feeling of dried grasses that lay just on the edges of the dry lake. She laid down, enjoying the shade of the few trees and tall rocks that were around them. "You may come and lay down, with me, if you please she told him, her head laying on the grasses as her bird companion hopped up onto her head, pecking gently at her fur.

Sanka took her offer into consideration. He really could use some rest after his journey there, but he had been starving himself for too long to continue on.
"I could hunt for the two of us, we could settle down to a meal." he suggested.
Although it was just the break of morning the sun was hot and bright. With nothing in the distance to block the suns rays they traveled unobstructed bearing down heavily on Sanka. Some one could easily get lost out here. Sanka thought. With no landmarks an intruder could walk around in circles for days. completely unaware. And with no water on the dry lake bed they could easily die of dehydration. Sanka grinned, this place could come in handy one day.

Hunting sounded nice. She could easily kill something from the air, with very little effort at that, thanks to her weight. She was a large animal to begin with, and well landing on a prey animal at high velocity it was bound to break a spine. She yawned a little and then nodded when he mentioned food. "Feel free to. You must prove your worth to me, so I would enjoy watching you hunt... she told him, lifting her regal head, and looking around. The curved horns were very heavy, and if she shifted her head far o much, or even shook her neck hard she could potentially do some major damage. Her neck muscle were large, along with her chest muscles and most other muscles on her body.
Ess stretched her front paws out far in front of her, mindful of the spikes on her elbows and looked around, listening to the sounds of the sparrow as he twittered around her head. She lifted her muzzle up, looking at the little male avian, she flicked her two tongues out testing the air. She knew where there was plenty of prey, but she wanted to see him find it. The female groaned a little as she stretched some more, feeling her muscles stretching, and her stuck bones popping. Goodness she felt old today. And with good reason. She was very old. A few thousand years old at that.

Still fatigued from his travels he had no energy to waste. he wanted to ask the alphess where he should look for easy prey, but as she had said already, he had to prove himself to her. Now that the sun hung low in his sky his vision began fading. Soon he would be stuck in a world of darkness, his eyes would dim from their vibrant red to a smoky black as his vision worsened. But he couldn't let her know of his uncertainty.
He scented the air and broke off in a sprint quickly. He was running towards the scent of water. Although the water was quite a ways off, Sankas control of the liquid element made him very in tune with it, able to locate it hundreds of miles away.
He sprinted for a while, unsure if his alphess really was watching him, until finally grass started to appear on the land that was before so scarred.

The female followed slowly behind, she was quiet as could get, making sure the male could not even tell she was there. She flicked her tail back and forth, twitching her nose, letting her wings open lifting her body into the air. She watched him from the air, being careful to see what he was doing. She was rather hungry herself, not to mention she needed to see how he hunted, wanting to see how well he did. The female watched him carefully, bi-colored eyes peering down from the height. She was just in the trees, not over top of them, making sure she was watching over him.

The grass was a welcome relief. If was cool to the touch and eased the pain of his sore paws. By now his eyes had completely hazed over and he couldn't see a thing. His nose was working overtime doing its best to lead his in the right direction. Lucky for Sanka the place where he had come was a small plain without many trees so he din't have to worry about bumping into anything. He scented the air, there was either a small group of dear far away, or one extremely close, but the scent was strong and that was better than nothing.
Sankas dark body dropped to the ground, he was now in stalk mode. Moving slowly he closed the distance between him and his prey. The only problem was that his prey was still quite a ways off. the strong scent he picked up belonged to a group of doe who were being guarded by a male. A male with sharp antlers, antlers tat could deal a killing blow if he wasn't careful. Sadly Sanka didn't know any of that.
Looking like a fool, he continued his slow approach until finally he was within striking distance. Since he had began stalking his prey from so far off the doe had no idea he was there. Sanka had picked out the scent of the male, he was off to the left, so whatever he did, it would include moving to the right. Knowing his prey well he deducted that making a wide arc would herd them together, from there they would each rapidly change direction and break off into groups of two or three. What he needed was to focus on only the doe in front of him.
It was time to put his plan into action. Completely blind he he bolted to action. He made his wide arc which served its purpose and gathered the deer into a ball. Then, just as he predicted they began changing direction. The last one to change direction would be his prey. They darted from left to right using their superior agility to evade him. As Sanka closed in on his quarry he stuch his front paw out, causing the animal to stumble and fall.
Immediately his teeth were sunk into its throat. The warm taste of blood was a welcome treat. Now that he had a dead doe his stomach reminded him how hungry he was. Terrible cramps began to plague him. He cold just eat it here, but now that he had an alphess to follow, she would get the first bite. He then remembered she was a winged wolf, it would make her hard to track by scent, and he was completely blind. He let out his unique howl, a song that was sweeter than honey. It broke into many different octaves, sounding like there was a whole pack of wolves harmonizing with him.
Now all he could do was hope she would understand it was him and make her way to him.

The female had not been far off, having perched herself in a massive old oak. Thankfully the branches were very thick so it would support her massive weight. She had noticed the male's eyes had hazed over, and watched him with an unamused look on her face, how foolish was this pup? She felt like snapping at him and telling him how stupid he was. He may have not been a small wolf but he certainly didn't have her strength. She went after male elk on a regular basis, if she was feeling very strong he would go after male moose. Although females were enough of a challenge. Ess just watched like a silent night guardian seeing that he was going closer to the male.
Was he really this stupid? Proving himself by going after the buck would make him more pathetic then if he went after a doe. The more you tried to prove yourself, by doing stupid things, she believed you were so weak. Well she was a twisted alpha about that, but well she couldn't help it. She watched the male chase the herd before finally a doe was brought to her end. The female listened to the sounds of his beautiful howl, she glided down from the tree landing next to him. Her hackles raised, lips being pulled back to bear her teeth, and a growl echoing around them. She would eat first, no matter what. She was alpha, and unless he became her consort he would not be allowed to eat first. The female swallowed massive chunk of flesh, eating the heart and liver, the two best parts of the deer before finally laying down to clean herself.
She licked her paws a little before giving up thanks to the fact the two thin little tongues wouldn't do much. She stood, walking to the stream that wasn't to far away. Her paws were dipped in and rubbing her paws on her muzzle to get the blood off and once she was clean walked back over to where he was laying down in the soft grass.

Sanka listened as the fae tore through the meat devouring the best parts before settling down. She hadn't said anything to him about his hunting method so he relieved. Maybe she hadn't noticed his blindness after all. Sanka took his turn at the doe ripping it apart hungrily. Despite his hunger Sanka left a very large portion of the meat untouched; he didn't know how many more mouths there were to feed and he didn't want to go back to hungry pups empty handed. Then he relaized he still new nothing about her pack.
He could tell just from the way she held herself she had absolute power and most likely little opposition. Settling down with a large femur bone Sanka began to question her seeking more information.
"How large is your pack?" he began.

She twitched her nose, looking at him, knowing his blindness. She would not mention it though, and then shook herself off, him laying next to her didn't bother her. She let her tongues flick out, tasting the air, before she laid her head down. Well it was just them, no one else. Although it was sort of depressing well they would get there. It would be soon, she hoped, but oh well. "Just you and I." she said before she let her paws stretch out far in front, grasping the ground with her claws, and then flicking her ears up.
